This year’s annual Exam Season Support Campaign was held in Hanoi on May 24. The main goal of the campaign is to ensure that trained volunteer teams are available at all exam venues across the country to help candidates who may require support by consulting and exchanging useful experience to help students face exams with confidence.
Students are counselled on exam procedures and the pressure of exam conditions and in dealing with stress in the run-up to their tests, with the supply of stationery materials provided if necessary, and instructions on how to complete university/college applications.
The campaign strives to ensure students from disadvantaged backgrounds (especially those located far from venues) are offered subsidised (and free) transportation and accommodation during exam season. Advice is even given regarding the outside consumption of food and drink (its financial cost, and the hygiene status of food outlets) to ensure a safe and trouble-free period for candidates.
In addition, the Central Vietnamese Student Association coordinate with the appropriate authorities to prevent issues that affect candidates (and accompanying relatives) ; liaising with localities, hospitals, universities and colleges to handle together unusual incidents in terms of weather, accidents and health of candidates.
The overall program is organised by the Vietnam National Union of Students, the Ministry of Education and Training, Youth Newspaper, and Thien Long Group, and is conducted from May to July each year making this the 17th consecutive year.
